Jump Off Day 16 September

Jump Off Day 16 September

All students at Red Hill School are currently engaging in jump rope (skipping) lessons for PE.  Students are discovering the effect of continuous skipping on their heart rate.  They are displaying their creativity and risk-taking by trying new tricks – some students have even created new tricks themselves!  They are also enjoying working with other students with partner or ‘big rope’ skipping.

Apart from the personal and peer benefits of skipping there is also a fundraising component to Jump Rope for Heart.  Students can purchase skipping ropes and on Friday 16 September our school will be having a ‘Jump Off Day’.  On this day students may choose to come to school uniform free make a gold coin donation.  All money raised goes to the Heart Foundation.  This organisation does a lot to help people – particularly young people who are born with heart problems.
